Pages 257-291. 2014-05-13 purple Hibiscus The book purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda Adiche is a captivating and interesting story that kept me on edge till the last page of it. The part that I fancy most is the dispute between Eugene and his father (i.e Kambili's grand father) over religion. Well written.

It is set during the post-colonial time when the country is struggling economically, In Purple Hibiscus, Papa-Nnukwu, as all of the Achikes, is ethnically Igbo and portrays indigenous culture of Igboland. However, he is the only traditionalist who practices Igbo.
